There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under the Sun. Ecclesiastes 3:1

Do you worry about things? Maybe about what’s for dinner or what you’re going to wear? will you get the new shoes you want or will you go out to eat for your birthday?

Jesus knew that people worried about having enough food and drink and clothes. Everyone needs these things and sometimes when we’re not sure we’re going to get them we worry.

Is it ok to worry? Don’t you think it makes sense?

Well Jesus told his friends not to worry. Do you know why? It has to do with birds and flowers!!

He said ‘ think about birds, They don’t store food away. They don’t have to because God feeds them. You should know you’re more important to God than birds.

Flowers are beautiful and all they do is grow. If God made them so beautiful, won’t he make sure you have clothes?

Worrying won’t make you live longer. Trust God to look after you and make God the most important part of your life and he’ll take care of all these things. I mean why would a bird look or food if it wasn’t somewhere? But isn’t it difficult not to worry if you really need something? Suppose you don’t get it?

Jesus wants us to spend our time trusting him instead of worrying. It certainly feels better! We should do what we can and then ask him and trust him to help us – it dies work but look at the stories we have of people who God helped! It can be scary to trust someone you don’t know but it’s easy to trust someone you do. So the more you get to know Jesus, by reading about him and talking with him the easier it will get.

Why not start by asking him to help with your homework or behaviour at school or anything and see if it works. You’ll never know until you try..
