Family Life, Busy Life
Do you have any tips on making your family run smoothly and for encouraging your children to learn and practise good habits? Pass them on to others by emailing them to family@positivestuff.org.uk
This week’s contribution is from Delano who tells us about how she keeps her house running smoothly
Cleaning the house
"I don’t believe that I should do all the housework while everyone around me is having fun e.g. watching the T.V or playing games. My older children help in the housework example washing dishes and hovering around the house. All the children clean their own bedrooms, it’s their mess not mine. I’m a strong believer in many hands make light work. When all the housework is finished, we all can sit down and relax and have fun together.
Running a home
I’m a mother with a large family. I have found that having a routine keeps you on time and calm. If your routine e.g. timekeeping messes up then everything is in a complete mess and late, On school days I prepare school clothes from the night before then no one can say they cannot find their jumper or anything else. We leave the house at 8:30 each morning for school so our target is to be ready at 8’0’ clock. The rest of the time is taken up by reading a book until its time to leave for school."
