Partners not performers

February 22, 2002

Dear Friends

The threshold of St Valentine’s day has been crossed and the days are becoming lighter.

I found our workers meetings a particular blessing. It was good to meet so many people and gather so many perceptions.  It is interesting to note the gap between ‘our talk and our walk’. I have had the privilege of reading some education literature this last week and realise that the same contradictions appear in our business lives, as our learning lives and our church life.  In each sphere people want to perform, they have a deep quest for results, and a desire to compete. The literature in every sphere suggests that results come not by focussing on results, but by focussing on partnerships, collaboration and cooperation.

God wants partners not performers!

We have a long way to go. The development of a shared vision takes time, effort, heartache and even controversy. It is important to continually remember that it is for us to align our vision with God’s vision, our expectation of the kingdom with God’s revelation of His kingdom.

Despite our folly, God has continued to bless us.  Thank you for being a partner with God in His story of success.

Yours truly,

Victor Pilmoor
