Teen view By: Youth Reporter : Rebekah The number of youth in Walthamstow Seventh Day Adventist church is growing dramatically, and the part the youth play is becoming more and more important. Many people say that youth are the church of tomorrow, however I don’t agree with this statement, as I believe that the youth are the church of today. As a teen I believe that it is our responsibility to tell others about our faith and exactly what we believe. We as the youth need to witness to others even if its just to our friends. You may not think it people around you are very interested in your beliefs. These are some of the questions I’ve been asked about what the Seventh Day Adventist Church entails: -Why do you go to church on Saturday -What foods can you eat -Why can’t you eat other foods -Is your religion strict -Don’t you get bored going to church EVERY Saturday -How do you find time for your friends when they usually go out on Saturdays and -you can’t go with them There are obviously more questions and sometimes I can’t answer them but this just gives me the chance to invite my friends to church so they can see and find things out for themselves.I asked some of my friends what they thought about the Church in general and here are some of the things they said don’t like church as I find it boring but I don’t think all Church’s are that way” "I find church quite exciting as I like finding out new things” "I don’t like church as I have loads of friends my age there so we all hang around together As you can see from the above list people have different view on church, this is the reason why we youth need to liven up our churches by getting involved more so that we attract others. Our church is already doing this by getting the youth involved by taking their inputs and ideas. We are still a growing church moving with the times which is why we still need more input and advice as to what we could do to make our church more of a youth friendly environment and we need as much help as we can get to make our Church the place to be.
