Enough

How can I say thank you and it be enough?
So many prayers, so many sorrows, so much done for me
How can simple words from a simple soul ever be enough?
You are too much and I not enough - thank you

How can I ever explain you to others and get it right?
So much power, so much kindness, so much given
How can my clumsy mind explain? The words won’t come out right
If I try my whole life long I could never sing a suitable song. Sorry

How can I make you real to those who can not see?
My life is full of wonder and doubt, light and dark, miracles unfold
How can my faltering witness show them the truth of your existence?
As I walk in your ways and live your love - please shine through me

How can I ever say thank you and it be enough?
My mind is dull, my words insufficient to praise your omnipotence
How can I ever live a life that shows your way?
My efforts are meandering, my example blemished, my cup is full

I shall praise you and show you through all that you do
I shall witness through your actions in me, for me and through me
I am not enough but you Lord make me whole
Let others see and recognise and praise your transformation of my soul

And then it shall be enough and my praise shall flow free
