Forgiveness
A word so easy to say but so hard to do,
You would think that it was impossible,
But that’s clearly not true
Seventy times seven we must forgive our brothers,
Just imagine the number of times we must forgive others
Our hearts are stubborn, it’s hard to believe
We too want forgiveness for our unkindly deeds
Forgive our sins as we forgive others we pray
Has a lot of implications we should practise each day
Forgive is divine is our everyday cliché
Only our lives will tell if we mean what we say
Because putting forgiveness in action
Is like being in traction
We swing up and down
Our faces one big frown
Not grasping the realisation
That as we do to others gives us great satisfaction
“We all like to be forgiven that’s in our nature” we will say
“But to forgive others, is meant for someone else” we pray
“To obey God’s words of wisdom
Won’t get us in His Kingdom
It’s impractical and impossible”
We will constantly complain
However, if we practice daily
To forgive our brothers, maybe we will
Develop such good habits
We might even get to like it
And blessings that will flow
Will be a lot more than we know
So let’s forgive our brothers truly
And accept God’s blessings freely
And enjoy some happiness as on life’s journey we go
